Want Some, Come Get Some

Five friends in a cabin, in the darkest, creepiest forest imaginable, in the middle of absolutely nowhere....what could possibly go wrong...?
Evil Dead is getting a fresh spin, and a much more violent one from the looks of it. Of course, the special effects are going to be much more...well, in every way awesome. The film industry has come a long way in the 30+ years since the original.

Forest Fornication 2013

Forest Fornication 1981
There won't be an Ash this time around, not in the film anyway. Bruce Campbell is wearing his producer hat along with his friend and colleague from the original Evil Dead, Sam Raimi.
This version is about a girl named Mia who is an alcoholic (all the blurbs say she has a "drinking problem"). So, I assume she's out in the middle of nowhere, in a cabin, amidst a creepy woodland backdrop as an intervention, nary a liquor store for miles. This is where the trailer lost me in plot. I was too busy being engrossed in all the disturbing violence to pay attention to what was being said beyond, "You're all going to die tonight." Still, I'm very excited about seeing this flick on April 12, 2013.

Linda: [singing] We're going to get you. We're going to get you. Not another peep. Time to go to sleep.

  1. TAK: Ouch! Nothing like morning wood. However, what can make up in effects may destroy the story. Even the same can bee said about an over dependence on effects if it does not have the same je ne sais quoi, of the original.

  3. The original was more campy than scary. The remake has more hardcore violence.
